We used milk, a plate, food colouring and washing up liquid. The washing up liquid pushed the fat molecules in the milk away from it (this is how it washes your dishes) and made a lovely marble like pattern in the milk! It was very cool to watch!
Today they announced the winners from the reel life science competition.
We came 2nd prize for ‘ germ busters’. It was great fun making germ busters. Everyone in the school helped us to make it by doing special jobs. We had to make the germs, learn about germs, compose a song and pick a tune to match it to! We now want to help everyone to remember to wash their hands!!!!
We feel so happy about how well we have done!!! We felt so happy that we came second place. Well done the winners and all who took part!
We even made it onto the journal.ie news website!!!!! wow wee
UPDATE!!! Volcano made and erupted!!! We used baking powder, clay, food colouring and vinegar to create mini eruptions.
First we made the volcano, then we stuffed it with paper and added the baking powder and food colouring. next we added the vinegar and made it erupt. The reaction between the vinegar and baking powder even added the bubbles and sound effects you see in real volcanos.
